Issuing vs tracking

The two tools start from opposite ends. CertLister is built around the organization that issues a certificate: design it, send it, let anyone verify it, and remind the holder before it lapses3. It can also import credentials issued elsewhere from a CSV file and track them the same way2.

CertsDue is built around the employer. Your guards, operators and crew already hold cards from a state agency or a trainer, and the work is collecting a copy of each one and noticing when it runs out. CertsDue gets the card image from the Staff Member's phone and reads the date from it. CertLister's expiry tracking page describes CSV import and does not mention reading dates from photos2.
